Introducing Lighthouse GEO: See What AI Says About Your Brand Before the Market Decides
We have launched Lighthouse GEO, a new AI visibility intelligence platform and strategic communications service that shows brands how they are being described, compared and cited by AI systems.
It answers a question that has become surprisingly difficult for leadership teams to answer: when a customer asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or another answer engine about your market, what happens to your brand?
Are you presented as a leader? A credible option? An expensive alternative? A risk? Are you absent from the assessment while a competitor receives the recommendation?
Most businesses do not know. We built Lighthouse GEO to change that.
Why we launched Lighthouse GEO.
The way people discover and assess companies is changing quickly. AI-generated answers now sit alongside search, media coverage, reviews, websites and word of mouth as part of the information environment surrounding a decision.
The scale is already significant. In June 2026, Google reported that AI Overviews had more than 2.5 billion monthly users and that AI Mode had passed one billion monthly users. In August 2026, OpenAI said ChatGPT served more than one billion weekly active users.
Those figures do not mean every customer has abandoned traditional search or suddenly handed every decision to an AI assistant. They do mean that AI-generated summaries and comparisons have moved into the mainstream. Brands now have another highly visible place where their reputation can be compressed into a few names, claims and sources.
Here is the uncomfortable part: your brand does not need to be attacked to lose ground. It can simply be left out. Or it can appear in the answer and still lose.
That second possibility is what many monitoring approaches miss.
A mention is not the same as a win.
Counting mentions is useful, but it stops at the least interesting part of the answer.
Imagine two companies appear in the same AI-generated comparison. One is described as innovative, reliable and well-suited to complex work. The other is mentioned just as often but framed as expensive and less flexible. On a visibility chart, they may look equal. To a prospective buyer, they are anything but.
The commercial question is not only “Were we there?” It is “What did our presence mean?”
Lighthouse GEO looks beyond the mention to examine:
how often the brand appears across the buyer questions that matter;
how it is positioned against selected competitors;
which attributes, strengths and risks are associated with it;
which sources and narratives appear to support the answer;
where the evidence is missing, inconsistent or out of date.
That creates a much more useful picture of AI visibility. It shows not only where the brand is present but also where it is gaining ground, being misunderstood or quietly losing the argument.
What Lighthouse GEO reveals.
Every benchmark begins with the real decision environment: the questions buyers ask, the competitors they consider and the attributes that influence trust and choice.
From there, Lighthouse GEO measures the AI share of voice across a defined prompt set. It shows which brands appear most often, but it does not confuse frequency with success.
Competitive positioning adds the context. Is the company being presented as the market leader, a specialist, a credible alternative or a weaker option? Sentiment analysis then moves beyond a simple positive-or-negative label to examine the qualities attached to the brand, such as reliability, service, price, safety, performance or innovation.
The platform also looks behind the answer. Its source intelligence helps identify the publishers, articles, reviews and other public material connected with important brand narratives. That matters because an outdated article, a weak product description or an absence of independent evidence can shape the story long after the business itself has moved on.
The result is not another dashboard for somebody to admire once a month. It is a set of priorities: the buyer questions the brand needs to address, the narratives it needs to clarify and the authority signals it needs to strengthen.
Data reveals the risk. PR changes the evidence.
This is the point at which Lighthouse GEO becomes more than a monitoring platform.
A dashboard can show that a competitor is recommended more often. It can expose an old story that appears to be damaging sentiment or reveal that the company's strongest expertise is absent from an important buyer question.
But data alone will not change the next answer.
That requires communications work. It may require clearer owned content, a stronger proof point, a better explanation from a subject-matter expert, executive thought leadership, authoritative media coverage or independent validation.
This is why Lighthouse GEO sits inside Lighthouse PR rather than apart from it. We connect the intelligence to the practical work of changing the public evidence around a brand.
If the evidence is thin, fragmented or outdated, an AI system can only work with what it can find. Competitors with clearer and more credible signals may be easier to understand, compare and recommend.
Our job is to identify that gap and help close it through strategic communications, earned media, expert content and reputation programmes grounded in something real.
Human-authored. Machine-optimised.
There is an obvious irony in launching an AI visibility service: the quickest way to produce more content is now to ask AI to produce it. That is not our approach.
The internet does not need another layer of bland, interchangeable articles assembled to satisfy a machine. More importantly, neither do the people making serious business decisions.
Google's own guidance recommends unique, valuable, people-first content for its generative AI search features. It advises businesses to prioritise expert-led, non-commodity material rather than chase GEO or AEO “hacks”.
We agree. The people inside a business must own the expertise, evidence, judgement, voice and point of view. The role of generative engine optimisation is to make that knowledge clearer and easier to find, interpret and cite. It should sharpen genuine expertise, not replace it with synthetic volume.
Our principle is simple: write for people, structure for AI and strengthen the signal.
How the Lighthouse GEO service works.
We start by mapping the questions, competitors and attributes that matter to the business. A consumer brand, an infrastructure company and a specialist B2B provider do not operate in the same decision environment, so they should not be measured against the same generic prompt list.
We then establish a benchmark across relevant AI systems. That reveals where the brand is included, how it is positioned, what language is associated with it and which sources appear to be influencing the answer.
The findings become an AI authority plan. Each priority is connected to a narrative, a proof point and a communications action. Depending on the evidence, that could involve owned content, media relations, executive positioning, expert commentary, reputation work or third-party validation.
Then we measure again.
AI answers change as platforms, public sources and competitors change. Ongoing measurement shows whether the brand's inclusion, positioning, sentiment, citations and share of voice are moving in the right direction and where the next investment should go.
Google's introduction of dedicated generative AI performance reporting in Search Console in 2026 is another sign that this discipline is maturing. Search Console can show how a website appears within Google's AI features. Lighthouse GEO widens the view to the brand, its competitors, the narratives surrounding them and multiple answer platforms.
What Lighthouse GEO does not promise.
No responsible consultancy can promise to control an independent AI system. Answers can vary by model, platform, location, timing and the wording of a question. There is no secret switch that guarantees a citation, recommendation or ranking. We will not pretend otherwise.
What organisations can do is understand how they are currently represented, improve the quality and consistency of the evidence available in public and measure whether their position is changing. That is a more honest promise and a far more useful one.
Know before the market decides.
For years, businesses have monitored what journalists, customers, analysts and search engines say about them. AI-generated answers are now part of that same reputation landscape, but they combine and compress those signals in a new way.
Being invisible is not neutral. Being visible but badly positioned may be worse.
Lighthouse GEO gives leadership, marketing and communications teams a clearer view of that risk. Lighthouse PR then helps turn the findings into stronger content, influence and third-party authority.
We have launched the service because the new battleground is already here. The brands that respond well will not be the ones that publish the most. They will be the ones whose expertise is clearest, whose evidence is strongest and whose authority is hardest to ignore.
Request an AI visibility benchmark and see what AI says about your brand before the market decides.
